Privacy Policy
This policy explains, in plain English, what personal information Dotcross collects, why, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have. It covers only what the service does today.
Who we are
Dotcross is run by Dotcross LLC, a Texas limited liability company ("Dotcross", "we", "us" or "our"). We are responsible for the personal information described here.
What this policy covers
This policy applies to the websites dotcross.app, dotcrossready.com, app.dotcross.app and to the early-access waitlist.
What we collect for the waitlist
When you join the waitlist we collect:
- Account information from the sign-in method you choose (Google sign-in or a sign-in link sent to your email): your email address, your display name and an account identifier from the sign-in provider.
- The answers you give when you join: your state of residence, the filing situations you check, and whether you want product-news emails.
- Consent records: which versions of this policy and the Terms of Use you accepted, and when.
- Basic technical data: your IP address and browser information, recorded in our server logs and kept for security.
- Messages you send us, if you write to one of our email addresses.
What we do not collect at this stage
The waitlist does not ask for, and we do not collect, your Social Security number, tax documents, income or IRS records.
How we use it, and why
We use personal information only for these purposes, each with the reason we rely on:
- To run the waitlist and your account and let you know when your invite is ready: because you asked us to, under our Terms of Use.
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse: our legitimate interest in protecting the service and the people who use it.
- To send product news: only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- To keep consent records and answer legal requests: to meet our legal obligations.
- To answer messages you send us: because you asked us to.
We do not sell or share your personal information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising (targeted advertising). These sites carry no advertising trackers and no analytics cookies.
Global Privacy Control
We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signals as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. Because we do not sell or share it, there is nothing further to switch off, but the signal is respected.
Where your data is stored
The service's data is stored and processed in the United States. The service is offered only to people who live in the United States.
How long we keep it
You can delete your account at any time from the app. Deleting it removes your account and your answers.

Your choices and rights
You can see and correct your answers, turn product-news emails on or off, and delete your account from your account page at app.dotcross.app.
Depending on where you live, state privacy laws may give you further rights: to know and access the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to get a copy in a portable format, and to opt out of its sale, targeted advertising or profiling. We will not treat you differently for using any of these rights.
How to exercise your rights
Use your account page at app.dotcross.app, or email privacy@dotcross.app. An authorized agent may also make a request for you, with your written permission.
Before acting on a request we verify your identity, usually by asking you to sign in or to confirm the request from the email address on your account.
We respond within 45 days. If we need more time, where the law allows it, we will tell you why and how long.
If we decline your request, you can appeal by emailing privacy@dotcross.app with "Appeal" in the subject line. We respond to an appeal within 60 days. If you are not satisfied with the result, you can contact your state attorney general.
Security
We encrypt data in transit and limit access to personal information to the people and systems that need it to run the service. No method of storing or sending data is fully secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.
If there is a security incident
If a security incident affects your personal information, we will notify you, and the authorities where required, as the law requires.
Children
Dotcross is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we delete it and close the account.
Before we handle tax documents or IRS records
When Dotcross later handles tax documents or IRS records, we will publish an updated policy and ask for your separate, specific consent before doing so.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes we post a new version here with a new effective date. If a change is material, we will also notify account holders by email.
